Yes, Servire currently runs on iPhone and iPad. The Android app is in development. Used iPads start at around €200, and most restaurateurs already have Apple devices.

What about inventory management?

The "Inventory" module is included in Servire Max (€99/month) as a Max feature: manage stock levels, automatic deduction when orders are placed, low-stock warnings. In Free, Solo and Pro, Servire focuses on ordering, checkout and compliance, for accounting, there's the DATEV export.

Is Free really fully featured?

Yes. Free includes the full POS feature set: floor plans, course management, staff management and kitchen display, with one active register device per shift (switchable at any time via takeover). The tax compliance features (TSE, DATEV, DSFinV-K) are available from Servire Solo, unlimited simultaneous devices from Servire Pro.

Which plan is right for me?

Food truck or single till: Solo (€39). TSE, DSFinV-K and DATEV with one active register device per shift (the §146a cash register registration is available from Pro). Restaurant, bar or café with several devices: Pro (€59), the standard. You also want inventory, CRM or the reservations module: Max (€99). To get a feel for it without tax compliance: Free (€0).

What happens if I sign in a second device on the Free or Solo plan?

On the Free and Solo plans, exactly one device runs the register: the device that starts the shift is bound to that shift. A second device is blocked for this shift, but it can actively take over the register after a confirmation, the previous device then locks immediately. Quick PIN switching between several employees on the same till remains possible at all times. If you permanently need several devices at once, Pro (€59) is the right plan.

What are the Max features?

The Max features include inventory, CRM, reservations, website builder and delivery integrations. They are fully usable and continuously being developed further, their feature scope and interface keep growing. They are included in Max at no extra charge, and your feedback flows directly into development.

What is Self-Ordering and is it included?

With Self-Ordering your guests order themselves: via QR code at the table, through the pickup page or at a kiosk terminal. They choose from the digital menu and pay themselves, online via Stripe or at the terminal's card reader. Every order is tax-compliant and TSE-signed and runs straight into the kitchen and the Z-report. Self-Ordering is included in the Servire Max plan (€99/month).

How does the AI Menu Import work?

Just upload a photo or PDF of your existing menu: our AI extracts item names, prices, categories, variants, PLU numbers, allergens and additives and creates everything automatically. The Free plan includes 5 scans per week, the paid plans 20. The weekly limit resets every Monday. A PDF counts as one scan regardless of page count (up to 20 pages / 50 MB).

How much does a point-of-sale system for the restaurant industry cost?

Traditional point-of-sale (POS) systems often cost €100–300 per month, plus setup, hardware, and TSE (Technical Security Equipment) fees. Commissions on sales or additional charges for each extra device are also common.

Multiple POS terminals can be used simultaneously starting with Servire Pro. For businesses not yet legally required to have a POS system (e.g., kiosks without food service), Free is perfectly adequate.

What happens to my data during a downgrade?

All data is retained. When switching to the Free plan, the paid features are deactivated (TSE signing of new transactions, DATEV export, cash register reporting), but all historical receipts, reports, and exports remain accessible in the archive. You continue to comply with your retention obligations.

Switching between payment plans also does not affect the data. When switching from Pro to Solo, only one device per shift will be used for cash register reporting; you or your tax advisor are responsible for submitting the cash register report to the tax office. A downgrade takes effect at the end of the paid month, an upgrade immediately.

How much does it cost to switch to Servire?

Nothing. Servire has no setup fee and no switching or setup costs. You can start either for free with Servire Free or directly with a paid plan starting at €39/month (Solo). You migrate your menu yourself using AI import, without needing a technician.
