How to activate and configure time tracking
Time tracking allows you to record working hours, breaks, and overtime pay. It appears in the web desk only with beta access to a location or account, or in the MAX plan — and only with the "May manage time tracking" permission, which account holders always have.
Activate time tracking
In the web desk, navigate to Employees. If the function is disabled, the "Set up time tracking" link will open the "Time Tracking Settings" window, and later, the corresponding button at the top of the page. In the "Activation" section, enable the "Activate time tracking" option. "Force clock-in before service check-in" links the opening of the service check-in to clock-in.
Breaks, limits and deadlines
"Automatic break calculation (Working Time Act)" deducts the minimum break: 30 minutes for more than six hours of gross working time, 45 minutes for more than nine hours, minus any recorded breaks. "Time rounding" rounds the net time to the nearest 5 or 15 minutes. Under "Limits & Deadlines," the "Max. daily working time (minutes)" is set to 600, the "Minimum rest period (minutes)" to 660, the "Correction period (days)" to 7, and the "Retention period (months)" to 24.
Notifications and surcharges
"Employee email if clocking out is forgotten," "Copy to operator," and "Reminder after (hours)" control the reminder emails, while "Daily Working Time Act report via email" provides the violation overview. In the working time account, you define "Federal state (public holidays)" and "Public holidays reduce target hours," and "Calculate tax-free allowances" displays "Allowance rates (%)" and "DATEV wage types."
Time tracking is currently not enabled in the POS app for iPad and iPhone — it remains hidden there, even if you activate it in the web desk.
