Employee permissions in detail

Here's how to assign employee rights in detail

You define an employee's rights in the web desk. Navigate to Employees, open "Options" for the desired entry, and select "Edit Employee". The "Rights" section with eleven toggles is located on the right side of the dialog box.

Rights in the POS app

"Allowed to take orders" and "Allowed to process orders" control the two core functions; if a switch is deactivated, the POS app hides the action. Similarly, "Allowed to grant discounts" and "Allowed to cancel items" hide their respective functions; "Allowed to create and edit items" controls menu maintenance in the POS app. Without "Access to all restaurant shift data," a user only sees their own transactions; this section is then called "Own Shift." "Access to cash register book" and "Access to printer settings" unlock the cash register book section—provided the cash register book is active—and the printer entry in the settings.

Rights in the web desk

Without "Access to Web Desk," the Web Desk remains locked after login with the message "No authorization." "Allowed to set up payment providers (SumUp, Stripe)" enables connecting and disconnecting providers, while "Allowed to manage time tracking" allows corrections and exports of time tracking data—which additionally requires Beta access or the Max plan.

"Allowed to create and edit articles" is considered active as long as it has never been deactivated. The permissions for payment service providers and time tracking initially follow the status of "Access to Web desk".

Under "Other" you'll find "Is employer (tax tips)". If this is enabled, tips from this person are considered taxable and count towards shift revenue. The "Payroll & Accounting" and "Time Account" sections only appear if time tracking is activated.

The restaurant owner has all eleven access rights permanently set; he always has access to the web desk. You cannot disable your own "access to the web desk"—this prevents you from locking yourself out.
