Select printer series
Specify hardware model — the selection includes Epson series such as TM-T20 Series, TM-m30 and TM-T88 Series.
The printer series determines which command set the POS app sends to an Epson receipt printer. If it's incorrect, the device won't print at all or will print incorrectly. Therefore, this setting only needs to be filled in for Epson printers—for network printers (ESC/POS), the paper width takes its place.
Select series
In the printer dialog, you'll find the "Printer Series" field. Tap it—the list of supported Epson models will open, such as TM-T20 Series, TM-m30, or TM-T88 Series. When adding a printer, the app attempts to deduce the series from the printer name; if this fails, "Unknown" will appear in the field, and you'll need to select the series manually.
For Epson printers, the series is a required field—the printer cannot be saved without selecting it. For network printers (ESC/POS), this field disappears; there, the paper width (58 or 80 mm) is the required field. The selection is not checked during saving: A test print, which you can find in the printer dialog after saving, will show whether it is correct.
Find a model
The model name is usually found on the back or underside of the printer.
The serial list contains only Epson models—it is the catalog of the Epson command set. Printers from other manufacturers, such as Sunmi, Star Micronics, Citizen, or Bixolon, are configured using the network printer type (ESC/POS); in this case, serial selection is omitted, and you only specify the paper width.
