Manage price categories
How to set multiple prices per item — for happy hour, staff prices, or event prices.
Why price categories?
Price categories allow you to define multiple prices for the same item. Typical uses include: cheaper cocktails during happy hour, a separate price list for employees, a terrace surcharge for outdoor seating, higher prices for events, or B2B prices for catering clients.
Activate price categories
Price categories are disabled by default — most restaurants don't need them. Activate them under Settings → Restaurant → Price Categories using the "Activate Price Categories" toggle.
Upon initial activation, three active categories are automatically created: Happy Hour, Employee, and Discounted. You can then immediately switch between them in the POS app. If price categories already exist, they will remain unchanged.
Create and use in the POS app
Use the "+" symbol to create additional categories and assign them names. Then, for each item on your menu, assign a separate price to each category. In the POS app, you can switch between price categories when creating a new order. Existing orders retain their original prices—the change only applies to newly added items.
Prices for online orders
In the self-ordering configuration, you can permanently define a price category for the online menu using the "Price list for online orders" dropdown menu. Alternatively, you can select "Use in-store prices".
