Manage menu categories
This is how you create and manage categories such as hot drinks, appetizers, or pizza.
Categories structure your menu. A Drinks menu contains typical categories such as Hot Drinks, Soft Drinks, Beer, or Wine. A Food menu contains Appetizers, Main Courses, and Desserts.
Printers follow the article group
Which printer prints a receipt depends not on the category, but on the product group of the individual item. You select this in the product dialog. Therefore, two items in the same category can be printed on different printers.
Create a new category
First, select the menu where you want the category to appear (tab at the top), and then click + Category in the upper right corner. Enter the following information: - Icon: Symbol for the category (e.g., cup for hot drinks, pizza icon for pizza) - Name: Name of the category (e.g., Hot Drinks, Appetizers) - Color: Optional — accent color for the POS app - Active: Show/hide without deleting. Click Save. The new category will appear on the menu and will initially be empty — add items next.
Edit, sort, or delete a category
Click the More menu (…) to the right of the category name. You can: - Edit category — change the name, icon, and color - Duplicate category — create a copy with all articles - Sort articles — change the order of the articles - Delete category — removes the category and all articles
Order of categories
You can change the category sorting via the More menu in the top right corner of the menu card → Sort categories. See Sorting.
