Connect payment providers (SumUp / Stripe terminal)
This is how you connect SumUp or Stripe terminals centrally in the Server Web desk once — all devices in your restaurant automatically adopt the connection.
Tap-to-Pay directly on the iPhone
With a payment provider, you can collect payments directly on iPhones at the restaurant using Tap-to-Pay — guests hold their card or smartphone to your iPhone without needing an additional card reader.
The central payment provider management is currently available as a beta feature and visible to beta testers. If you would like to test this feature, please send us a brief email to support@servire.de.
New: central administration instead of setup per device
Previously, SumUp had to be registered on each iPad and iPhone individually—a significant hassle with multiple devices. With centralized configuration, a one-time connection here in the server web desk is all it takes. All devices in your restaurant will automatically accept it, saving you the setup, OAuth logins, and token refresh on each device.
The existing facility will remain in place.
As long as you don't set up SumUp centrally here, the existing login on the devices will continue unchanged. So you don't need to change anything hastily.
Connect SumUp or Stripe terminal
Open Settings → Payment providers and click Set up for your chosen provider. You will be redirected to the provider's login page and can log in with your existing account.
-
SumUp — Log in with your SumUp account, OAuth verification
-
Stripe Terminal — Link your Stripe Connect account
You need an existing SumUp or Stripe account. If you don't have one yet, you can create one for free directly with the provider — Servire is just the connection between them, we don't manage any money.
Understanding status
-
Connected — Everything is OK, devices can collect data
-
Connected but inactive — Connection is established, but currently deactivated (switch in the details view)
-
Setup required — Provider still needs data (e.g., KYC verification for Stripe)
-
Token expired — Briefly click Reconnect, takes 10 seconds
-
Provider error — Usually temporary, contact support if in doubt
Features vary depending on the provider
For each connected provider, you can see which features are supported:
-
Tap-to-Pay Available — Card payments directly on your iPhone
-
Refunds Supported — Cancellations are credited back to the card
-
Girocard Supported — Acceptance of German EC cards (important for regular customers)
Remove provider
You can delete the connection using the Remove icon. Your login details will be deleted at Servire—your account with the provider itself remains unaffected. You will need to set up the connection again if you wish to use the provider later.
