Connect payment providers (SumUp / Stripe terminal)

This is how you connect SumUp or Stripe terminals once centrally in the web desk — all devices in the restaurant automatically adopt the connection.

Tap-to-Pay directly on the iPhone

With a connected payment provider, you can process payments directly on iPhones in your restaurant using Tap-to-Pay: The guest simply holds their card or smartphone to the device, eliminating the need for an additional card reader. You set up the connection centrally once in the web desk, and all devices in your restaurant will automatically adopt it. Until you centrally configure SumUp, the existing login process on the devices will continue unchanged.

Establish a connection

Open Settings → Integrations. In the Payment Providers section, click Set Up for SumUp, Connect with Stripe for Stripe Terminal, or Continue Onboarding if the onboarding process is still open. Then log in to the provider with your existing account. These buttons are only available if you have the Manage Payment Providers permission. The SumUp card is visible to all users, while the Stripe Terminal card is only visible to beta testers and is marked with a beta badge.

You need an existing SumUp or Stripe account. If you don't already have one, create one directly with the provider. This only establishes the connection between you and the platform; the provider manages the money.

Status and usage

Each card displays the status: Connected, Connected but inactive, Setup required (the provider needs more data), Token expired (then briefly reconnect), or Service provider error. You can switch between different uses for each provider directly on the card using the POS and Online badges. The active badge cannot be deselected: A provider only becomes inactive when you activate the other one for POS use.

Use the Remove icon to delete the connection. Your login details will be deleted, but your account with the provider will remain unaffected. To use the service again later, simply set up the connection again.
