Master Data
Manage labels (allergens, additives, properties)
Manage allergens and additives compliant with the Food Information Regulation (LMIV), as well as proprietary labeling such as vegan or spicy.
Labels include allergens (contains gluten, contains eggs, soy, etc.) and additives (with coloring, with preservative, contains caffeine, etc.) as well as self-defined characteristics such as vegan, regional, or spicy. They are legally required in Germany and Austria (Food Information Regulation LMIV).

Pre-installed labels
Servire provides a complete list of additives (1-12: with colour, with preservative, with antioxidant, etc.) and allergens (A-N: contains gluten, contains crustaceans, contains eggs, contains fish, etc.) — based on Annex 2 of the Food Information Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011.
Create your own labels
Click on the More menu (…) in the upper right corner and select Edit Labels. In addition to the legally required labels, you can create your own markers, such as:
- Vegan or Vegetarian
- Regional or Organic
- Spicy (one or more levels)
- Gluten-free, Lactose-free
- Daily Special or Recommendation
Click on + Label and enter the name, type (Additive, Allergen, Property), and a symbol.
Features on the menu
Custom-defined labels of the type property are displayed as icons on the digital menu and in print (e.g., a green leaf for vegan). This makes your menu much clearer for guests.
Assign labels to an article
In the item dialog, switch to the Tags tab and activate all relevant markers. The tags will be:
-
displayed as small superscript numbers or letters after the item name (legal form)
-
shown as icons in the digital menu (properties)
-
automatically included in the PDF menu generator if activated
Mandatory labeling in Germany
You are legally obligated to declare at least the 14 main allergens (Annex 2 of the Food Information Regulation) and all declarable additives — for unpackaged foods, this must be done in writing on the menu or verbally after documented training. Servire does this automatically by linking the product and its labeling.
