Table context menu via long press

Press and hold the table for a longer time — and you will see a preview of the current order plus quick actions, without opening the table.

Instead of opening a table just to see what's been ordered, simply press and hold it briefly. For an occupied table, a context menu will appear with a preview of the order and quick actions—faster than a full tap. For an empty table with no order, no context menu will appear; simply tap it normally.

What appears in the context menu

Above you see a preview of the order with items and total. Below are the actions: Add Item, Pay, Add Party, Move to Another Table, and Cancel. If multiple parties are seated at the table, only Add Party remains. Canceling requires the right to cancel.

The preview is for reading only—you cannot edit it. To make changes, tap the table normally. Pressing and holding is ideal for quick status checks: What's still outstanding? What's the total bill?

Long press only works on iPads with touchscreens — not with a mouse/trackpad. On an iPad with a Magic Keyboard, use a two-finger tap instead of long press.
