Registration via PIN at the cash register

Here's how to log in to the cash register using your PIN.

With a login PIN, service staff at the POS terminal can quickly switch user accounts without typing a password. The PIN consists of 4 to 6 digits and is part of your personal user account. It should not be confused with the restaurant PIN, which you use to link a device to a specific location. The password remains valid and is always your way back in. The login PIN is not linked to any tariff or authorization.

Create or change a PIN

In the POS app, navigate to Account › Settings › Login Details and tap on "Login PIN". A status bar will indicate whether a PIN has already been saved. Tap on "Create PIN" or "Change PIN". A keypad will appear with the instruction "4 to 6 digits"; the "Confirm" button will become active after the fourth digit. The app will then prompt you to enter the same PIN again under "Repeat PIN" and will display "PIN saved".

If the two entries differ, the message "The PINs do not match. Please try again." appears, and the process starts again with the first entry.

Register at the POS terminal using PIN

On the home screen, tap "Sign in." The "Recent Sign-ins" list displays the accounts on this device. If the device knows that a PIN exists for the selected account, the "Sign in with PIN" keypad will appear; otherwise, the usual password field will be displayed. You can return to it at any time by tapping "Sign in with password." If you enter the wrong PIN, the app will display "Incorrect PIN. Please try again."

Ban after failed attempts

After five failed PIN login attempts, the system locks PIN login for 15 minutes; the message displays the remaining waiting time. Password login remains unaffected. Log in with your password and then set a new PIN via "Change PIN" to immediately remove the lock. "Remove PIN" deletes the PIN after a confirmation prompt; the device will then ask for your password again.
