Register and remove card readers
Pair a Stripe Reader S700 or a SumUp card reader with the POS app, select and remove each device.
Card payments are processed in the POS app via Tap to Pay directly on the device or via a card reader. For Stripe, this is the Stripe Reader S700, which works via your Wi-Fi network. For SumUp, it's the Air and Solo readers, which connect via Bluetooth. On iPads and Android devices without NFC, you always use a card reader for payments.
Prerequisite: The payment provider is connected to the Web desk : Connect payment provider. Only employees with the right May set up payment service providers (SumUp, Stripe, PayPal) may register or remove a Stripe reader. Stripe readers belong to the restaurant, not the device: All cash registers, the Web desk , and the order terminal see the same readers.
Register Stripe Reader S700
Enter code: Enter the registration code and optionally a name, for example ** counter**, and tap Register. The cash register will display Card reader registered and selected.
Open card reader registration: First, connect the reader to your Wi-Fi network. It will then display a registration code on its screen. In the POS app, open Settings → Payment providers and tap Register card reader on the Stripe card in the Card readers section.
Registration is also possible in the Web desk: Configure payment providers. You still select which reader a device uses in the POS app.
Select reader for this device
Select or remove readers: Each reader is listed as a separate line with its name, device type, and whether it's online or offline. A checkmark indicates which reader this device uses for payments. Tap on a different line or open … and select Use on this device.
Multiple cash registers may use the same reader, but only one payment at a time.
Remove card reader
Open the menu at the line … and tap Remove. After the confirmation prompt Remove card reader?, the reader will be deleted from Stripe and will no longer be available on any device in the restaurant. If a payment is currently being processed on it, remove it afterward. For future use, register it with a new code.
Connect SumUp card readers
SumUp manages its card readers itself. Tap Manage card readers on the SumUp card. SumUp will open its own page: There you can pair and disconnect an Air or Solo card reader via Bluetooth. Allow Bluetooth and location access if your device requests it. If Tap to Pay is disabled or unavailable on the device, payment will be processed via the connected SumUp card reader.
