Reservations: Times and capacity
Specify reservation duration, time slots, buffers, table occupancy duration and reservation times for online reservations.
In the Times & Capacity tab of the reservation settings, you determine how long a table is reserved, which times guests can choose, and how many guests are allowed to arrive at the same time. To do this, open Reservations → Gear icon → Times & Capacity.
Prerequisite: The Reservations module is part of the Max plan ( change plan ). An assistant will guide you through the setup process the first time you open it.
Slots & Times
Duration, interval, buffer
Standard Reservation Duration (min.) – how long a table remains occupied per reservation. This determines the end time if no table occupancy duration tier applies. Time Slot Interval (min.) – the increments at which guests select times, for example, every 30 minutes: 6:00 PM, 6:30 PM, 7:00 PM. Custom reservation times can have their own intervals. Buffer Between Reservations (min.) – time that remains free after each reservation at the same table, for example, for clearing and setting the table.
Table occupancy duration (turn-time)
Duration depending on group size
With Add Level, you define the booking duration for each group size: Up to Number of People and Duration (Min.), for example, up to 2 people 75 minutes, up to 6 people 105 minutes, up to 12 people 150 minutes. The levels must be ascending, and the highest level must extend to the Max. Number of People – otherwise, the settings cannot be saved. Without levels, the standard reservation duration applies to everyone. The POS system also calculates the end of a reservation based on these levels.
Reservation times
Lunch and dinner are separate.
With Add Reservation Time, you create time slots during which online reservations can be made, for example, Lunch 11:30–13:30 and Dinner 17:30–21:00. Without custom reservation times, the opening hours apply; custom reservation times only apply within the opening hours. The time slots appear in the POS and Web desk , for example, as Lunch and Dinner. Weekdays, From, To – when the period applies; the end time can be after midnight, for a maximum of 20 hours, and two time slots cannot overlap on the same day. Slot Increment (Min.) – the interval between selectable times within this period. The following limits apply per slot. Max. Guests per Slot – the total number of guests allowed per slot. Empty = no limit. Max. Groups per Slot – the maximum number of reservations allowed per slot, regardless of size. Large Group from and Max. Large groups per period – further restrict large groups, for example, a maximum of one group of 8 or more people per period. 0 completely blocks large groups during this period.
You can also edit these same times as a weekly schedule under Settings → Restaurant → Different Times: The pencil icon next to Reservation opens the Reservation Times dialog with Same as Opening Hours or Custom Times. If you change the times there, the slot interval and time period limits remain unchanged; you can only adjust them in this tab. Same as Opening Hours removes all time periods and their limits.
The online reservation page only offers times that fit the entire reservation within the specified period: If the evening ends at 9:00 PM and a group of four dines for 105 minutes, the last possible time is 7:15 PM. Therefore, choose the end of the reservation period closer to your kitchen closing time than to the last arrival time.
Reservations received as requests do not count towards the time period limits. You can configure which reservations are received as requests under Confirmation & Emails. Arrivals for each time slot are displayed in the timeline.
