NFC cards for vouchers
Hold the chip-enabled gift card to the device instead of typing in the code.
If you sell vouchers on cards with an NFC chip, you hold the card to the device instead of typing in the code. This works for selling, redeeming, and verifying.
Requirement: You need a device with an NFC chip: an iPhone or an Android device with NFC enabled. iPads do not have a suitable chip. Without a chip, the card button is unavailable, and you will have to use a QR code.
Redeem and check
Read card: When paying, select Voucher or open Check balance. Tap the wave next to the code field and hold the card against the NFC area of the device. The code will appear instantly.
Sell
Read card during sale: In the Sell Gift Card window, tap … in the upper right corner and select Scan NFC Card. The Servire will then apply the gift card code.
Which cards work?
Cards with a printed code that is also on the chip: Servire takes over this code. Your cards will continue to work; you just no longer need to type it in.
Blank cards: Servire uses the chip's fixed number as the code. You don't need to prepare anything.
Servire rejects cards that generate a different number each time they are scanned. A voucher on such a card would be impossible to locate later. This also applies to mobile phones that mimic a card.
If you want the card reader to open automatically when redeeming a voucher, the cardholder should set Open automatically on redemption to Card reading: Set vouchers at the checkout in the Web desk . Have new cards produced with a chip and a printed QR code; then they will work on any device.
