NFC cards for vouchers
Hold chip-enabled gift cards to the device instead of typing in the code.
Do you sell vouchers on plastic cards with an NFC chip? Then simply hold the card against the device instead of reading and typing in the code. This works for both selling and redeeming vouchers.
You need a device with an NFC chip. Every iPhone from the XS model onward and most Android devices have one. **The iPad doesn't have one—it uses the QR scanner. On devices without a chip, the card button won't even appear.
redeem voucher
When checking out, select Voucher as your payment method. Next to the code field, you'll see two symbols: a wave for the card and a square for the QR code. Tap the wave and hold your card against the top of the device. The code will appear instantly.
Sell voucher
Open the voucher sale and tap the three dots in the upper right corner. Select Scan NFC card and hold the card against the device. The service will scan the card's code and apply the voucher to it.
Which cards work?
Cards with printed code: If the code is also on the chip, Servire will use it. Your existing cards will continue to work—you just won't have to type it in.
Blank cards without printing: Servire uses the chip's unique number as the voucher code. You don't need to prepare anything or have anything printed.
Purchase cards with a fixed chip number, for example, of type NTAG213 or NTAG215. Servire rejects cards that generate a different number each time they are read—a voucher on such a card would later be impossible to locate. The same applies to a mobile phone that mimics a card.
Start automatically
In the web interface under Settings › Checkout › Payments, you can specify what opens automatically when a voucher is redeemed: nothing, the voucher scanner, or the card reader. The voucher scanner is the default setting.
Have new cards produced with both: a chip inside and a printed QR code. The QR code works on any device, including the iPad.
